Ubukeya

Production and wholesale of cutlery (HAMONO)

Has a reputation for “tools that can shave (knives and razors), cut (scissors and shears) and pull (tweezers) even an ubuke (soft, fine baby hair).”
A Hamono shop run by a artisan craftsman for generations

Our company was founded in 1783 (Tenmei 3) an edged tool artisan who handled processes ranging from forging to grinding. The shop’s name, Ubukeya, was taken from its reputation in Osaka for “tools that can shave (knives and razors), cut (scissors and shears) and pull (tweezers) even an ubuke (soft, fine baby hair).” We sell more than 300 products such as knives, scissors, and tweezers.
